Product Spotlight: Enhanced Collagen Relax

Relax – a word we crave when we find ourselves overstressed, overworked, exhausted and trying to cope with our hectic lives. Relaxation can mean different things to many of us and depend on what is going on in our lives the types of relaxation methods can vary! I thrive on my yoga routine, meditation, running, Enhanced Collagen Relax and snuggles on the couch with my kids for my “ relaxation“.  It is what makes my sleep habits, focus and daily routine improve. What many of us don’t realize is that we are regularly walking around in a state of stress.  Our body, the incredible machine that it can quickly adapt to the effects of stressful scenarios and we continuously stay in this state as we take on more and more as time goes on.  For many of us, it is hard to find the time to “ relax” with our schedules, children, and careers. Our cortisol ( stress hormone )  levels fluctuate throughout the day and often when we are under a lot of stress our cortisol levels will be low during the day ( causing fatigue ) and then be high in the middle of the night – therefor waking us at odd times and not being able to fall asleep!   Often people who have high levels of cortisol have symptoms of anxiety as well as depression leading to poor moods, work function and more added stress. A few easy and simple steps to help ourselves relax are to set up a routine that fits into your schedule.  Try to set some time for you daily where you can “ unwind” and  “ relax”.   It doesn’t need an extension; you can close your eyes and take 30 seconds of deep breathing. A few of my favourite tips will also help your body cope with stress better, allow you not to feel as overwhelmed, improve your sleep habits and leave you feeling more relaxed.

Alongside my night time routine, I also like to include some time for mindfulness.  I am a Yoga lover and come to my practice 5-6 days a week.  I have also have traded in my “ screen time “ in the evenings for reading books with my cup of chamomile tea and Enhanced Collagen Relax.  Often the blue light found on our digital devices shut down the promotion of our sleep hormone, Melatonin. It makes it hard for us to fall asleep and get a good nights rest.  This is the long-term will affect how we feel daily as well as add more to our stress levels.
