Welcome to 2020! Can you believe it’s a brand new decade?! Once the celebrating is done and the holiday fog clears, a lot of us will be taking some time to reflect on what we accomplished in the past year and set resolutions for what we’d like to achieve in the year ahead. Reaching a target weight, saving up for a dream vacation, you name it. Goal-setting can be an awesome way of coming up with a game plan to bring a vision into reality!
For a lot of people, however, New Year resolutions can quickly get lost in the shuffle of everyday life. And for the record, that’s totally fine! Sometimes, we have so much to deal with right now that it can be tough to gear up for what’s ten steps ahead. If this sounds like you- first, here’s a high five of solidarity.
Now, let’s get into how New Year’s intentions can help you out!

Or do you prefer to take your time and smell the flowers along the way? Setting intentions is a great way to stay grounded in the present moment. Your intentions guide your consciousness towards what is truly meaningful to you and help you avoid getting caught up in unhelpful thoughts and emotions.

Detaching from the outcome and accepting uncertainty as a part of the process makes it easier to roll with the punches and re-adjust to the challenges life throws your way.
You can choose to set your intentions by writing them down, meditating or making a ritual out of it! Set aside some time, find a quiet and comfortable place, and start by peering within. As cheesy as that sounds, an authentic intention is one that resonates with your personal thoughts, values and outlook on life. Some things you may want to consider when coming up with your intentions are:
Based on your self-reflection, you can start identifying your New Year’s intentions. There are no rules here – you can state how you intend to direct your focus, or pinpoint a single word representing a value you would like to align yourself with. If it rings true, you’re on the right path! We’re sharing some intentions from the Organika team to give you some inspiration.
