Accounting Manager

Full-Time | Richmond, BC

Primary Purpose of Position:

This position will play a critical role within Organika Health Products Inc.’s Finance Department by providing reporting and analytical support for Finance and Operations, preparing the monthly and quarterly financial reports and acting as a Finance Partner to Sales & Marketing, and operations teams. The Finance department is a highly collaborative group that encourages team members to take on new responsibilities and promotes continuous learning.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will perform cross-functional business analysis and maintain and enhance financial models. Additionally, you will directly support business leaders by analyzing key metrics and providing meaningful feedback to the decision-makers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze reports on current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures
  • Oversee and manage the continued development of Budgeting, Financial Forecasting, Operating Plan and Modeling tools
  • Prepare Monthly and Quarterly Financial reports
  • Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
  • Supporting Senior Management Team and Departments heads with in-depth analysis
  • Prepare presentations to Board of Directors and Senior Management Team
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis, with Business Intelligence Tools
  • Familiarity with Adagio and or Sage preferred
  • Other assigned duties, as needed

Required Skills and Training

  • CPA with 3-5 years experience in corporate accounting or finance role
  • Strong leadership skills required. Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated
  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity
  • Experience/familiarity with health food industry will be an asset
  • Experience in working with ERP systems, filing SR&ED & Stewardship / Recycling Program.
  • Experience in manufacturing, working with BOM, routings, labour costs and efficiencies.
  • Solid experience in project and cost accounting, payroll and withholding, GST &WCB.
  • Strong background in a computerized and fast paced environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adagio Accounting Software, Sage and Excel, including full cycle accounting, project costing or other accounting software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent work ethic, sense of responsibility and confidentiality.
  • Detail-oriented, and with strong communication, negotiation, organizational and time management skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively with others at all levels of the company.
  • Proficient in the use of the English language.
  • Previous experience in the pharmaceutical or natural health products industry is an asset.
