AR/AP Team Lead

Full-Time | Richmond, BC

Primary Purpose of Position:

To provide day to day operational support and guidance to the team of Accounts Receivable (AR) and Account Payable (AP) and respond to financial function queries. This role will provide leadership, expertise and advice to the AR/AP team to enable them to consistently deliver high standards on key financial activities within the AR/AP function.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, expertise and guidance to the AR and AP team to enable them to provide timely and accurate financial services and responses to queries.
  • Ensure all required monthly process is completed in a timely manner.
  • Perform day-to-day AR/AP responsibilities as required; included but not limited to:
    • Processing payable invoices
    • Handling expense related payables
    • Processing various types of receivables invoices
    • Follow up with overdue payments
  • Manage resource and work planning function and allocate tasks within the team accordingly.
  • Assist in month end, year-end and audit requirements.
  • Recommend and undertake continuous system and process improvements to ensure quality service delivery to clients, vendors and department managers.
  • Work closely with the Director of Finance to set performance targets, teamwork plans, and mitigate identified risk areas.
  • Performs other tasks as directed by the Director of Finance.

Required Skills and Training

  • Post-secondary accounting education, Certificate or Diploma in Accounting or equivalent.
  • 5+ experience with accounting systems and processes, including accounts receivable and account payable functions.
  • 2+ years previous experience managing/overseeing a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and accounting systems.
  • Experience in a computerized and fast paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented and with strong communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively with others at all levels of the company.
  • Previous experience in the pharmaceutical or natural health products industry is an asset.
