Konjac root (glucomannan) helps lower cholesterol levels by reducing absorption from the gastrointestinal tract. A systemic analysis revealed that the use of glucomannan (konjac root) had significant beneficial effects on total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, as well as body weight and fasting blood glucose.

Konjac root also has the ability to expand 17 times in size, creating a feeling of fullness thereby encouraging weight loss.

Konjac root is particularly useful for reducing the glycemic index of foods, which refers to how quickly a carbohydrate is metabolized by the body. Taken with food, konjac root/glucomannan effectively slows the release of sugars in food, allowing the body more time to burn the calories they contain off as energy instead of storing them as body fat. Konjac root’s fibre has a low-calorie content but is very high in fibre. Similar to many vegetables, this combination helps promote a healthy waistline.

RECOMMENDED USE OR PURPOSE: Helps to lower cholesterol levels (by reducing absorption from the gastrointestinal tract).

MEDICINAL INGREDIENT – EACH VEGETARIAN CAPSULE CONTAINS:
Glucomannan (Tuber (Amorphophallus konjac)) ………. 450 mg

NON-MEDICINAL INGREDIENTS:
Microcrystalline Cellulose, Magnesium Stearate, Pullulan / Hypromellose (Vegetarian Capsule).

RECOMMENDED DOSE – (ORAL) ADULTS ONLY:
Take 3 capsules three times per day with at least 240 ml liquid (water, milk, fruit juice or similar aqueous beverage). Taking this product with insufficient liquid may result in choking and/or esophageal blockage / obstruction of the throat, esophagus or intestine. Take 2 hours before or after taking other medications and ½ to 1 hour before meals. Not to be taken immediately before bedtime.

DURATION OF USE: Consult a health care practitioner for use beyond 8 weeks.

CAUTIONS: Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; or if you have diabetes. Do not use this product if you have difficulty swallowing. If you experience chest pain, vomiting, or difficulty in swallowing or breathing after taking this product, seek immediate medical attention. Loose stools, flatulence, diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort have been reported.
