In nature, bees collect materials from tree bark and leaves. They then partially digest this mix to form a resin called propolis, which is used in the maintenance of their hives. For us humans, bee propolis provides a unique source of antioxidants and relieves sore throats and other mouth and throat infections.
Organika’s Brazilian Green Bee Propolis is a giant step above other types of propolis. It is sourced from Africanized Honey Bees (Apis melifera scutelata), a species of honey bee with a unique method of collecting propolis, harvesting it from rich plant sources in unpolluted natural environments.
The rainforest environment where Brazilian Green Bee Propolis originates contains a diverse and unique array of bioavailable antioxidants that can’t be found anywhere else in the world. North American propolis is typically produced from materials from two types of plants; Brazilian propolis comes from materials from more than 300 different types of plants. The difference in quantity and diversity gives significant benefits to Organika’s Brazilian Green Bee Propolis.
Brazilian bee propolis’ green colour is due to its unique chemical and antioxidant composition. Some of the active compounds found within include: Artepillin-C, an antioxidant that is believed to have extremely potent antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and anti-ulcer properties. Caffeic Acid Phenethyl Ester (CAPE), which has been shown to be partially responsible for propolis’ anti-inflammatory properties.
