Replenish Electrolytes (Isotonic)

Organika®'s Replenish Electrolytes (Isotonic) is a clinically proven oral rehydration solution formulated to prevent dehydration and restore essential fluids and electrolytes lost due to diarrhea or vomiting. This product is particularly effective in maintaining hydration and supporting fluid balance during episodes of acute or watery diarrhea, as well as cases of acute gastroenteritis. By replenishing lost electrolytes, it helps sustain optimal hydration levels, supporting the body's recovery process.

MEDICAL INGREDIENTS: Each ml contains: Sodium (Sodium Chloride, Trisodium Citrate Dihydrate) 1.704 mg, Potassium (Potassium Chloride) 0.788 mg, Chloride (Sodium Chloride, Potassium Chloride) 2.292 mg, Citrate (Trisodium Citrate Dihydrate) 1.864 mg, Glucose 13.6 mg

NON-MEDICAL INGREDIENTS: Natural Berry Flavour, Citric Acid, Stevia Leaf Extract, Silica, Carrot Juice, Blueberry Juice Powder

Adults only: Dissolve (entire content of packet) in 250 ml of drinking water (to achieve appropriate concentration of medicinal ingredients). Stir/shake the solution before taking / giving. Take/give 200 ml 1 to 2 times per episode of diarrhea and/or vomiting, up to a maximum of 1000 ml (1 L) over a period of 24 hours. Attempt to take / give solution as soon as diarrhea begins. Take / give the solution frequently and in small amounts (e.g. 5 ml, gradually increased, as tolerated). Store reconstituted / opened solution in the refrigerator, discard remaining solution after 24 hours. If drinking water is not available, use boiled or bottled water to prepare the solution. Do not boil the solution after it is prepared.

A: The ingredients that make this product are sourced both locally and internationally.  

Q: How does the Isotonic electrolytes differ from regular electrolyte drinks?
A: The biggest difference is the composition of the two drinks. Isotonic drinks are composed of electrolytes/sugars that are in the same concentration as our body’s plasma/fluid levels. The absorption rate is super-fast, which is good for rapid rehydration. Whereas regular electrolytes, their concentrations vary. These drinks are used for general hydration and electrolyte replacement and their absorption rate varies depending on osmolarity. 

Q: Is this product suitable for everyday use, or should it only be used during dehydration?
A: Isotonic electrolytes are recommended for those who exercise a lot and need to rehydrate/replenish electrolytes that were lost during high intensity physical activity. If not engaging in anything with heavy physical activity or severe dehydration, you can use regular electrolyte drinks instead. 

Q: Is this product suitable for people on a low-sodium diet?
A: No, these products are generally high in sodium, as it's to replace sodium loss during sweating/fluid loss. Isotonic electrolytes match the concentration of our body’s natural fluid levels and in our body, we have a reasonable amount of sodium levels. 

Q: Can Isotonic be used by athletes for hydration support?
A: Absolutely, especially those who engage in high intensity physical activities. 

Q: Is the Isotonic safe for individuals with diabetes?
A: It can be safe, but individuals need to be careful, as there is a good amount of carbohydrates (in the form of simple sugars) in this drink. 

Q: Can I take Isotonic during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
A: It would be better to consult with a health care provider 

Q: Is this product suitable for individuals with kidney issues?
A: It would be better to consult with a health care provider. However, keep in mind this product has a high sodium concentration to help with electrolyte rebalance and rehydration. This could be a problem as kidneys help regulate sodium level, and with kidney issues, this could lead to fluid retention, or increase in blood pressure (hypertension) 

Q: The mineral amounts seem quite low, how does this support hydration?
A: The key for these isotonic drinks is osmolarity (similar to our body’s concentration). These drinks’ main purpose is for replenishing lost electrolytes. In most cases, it meant to replace what's lost during moderate/intense exercise, rather than being formulated to address extreme dehydration or electrolyte imbalances. 

Q: What is the difference between adults and kids, the ingredients seem similar or the same?
A: For isotonic drinks, they're similar in terms of amounts given that they need to meet the criteria of being an isotonic drink with similar osmolarities of our body’s fluids. Usually NMIs such as flavour/colour can vary. However, in this case both the adult and kids' ingredients are the same
