CSR Partner Highlight: Quest Food Exchange

Aaron Chin

We recently donated over $20,000 worth of Organika products to Quest Food Exchange, and as a past recipient of Quest's Most Valuable Partner Award (2016),  we wanted to highlight the amazing work they do in the local community.

"Quest Food Exchange is a not-for-profit organization that provides dignified access to a variety of affordable and healthy foods to individuals facing food security challenges in British Columbia."

They partner with local wholesalers, supermarkets, and farmers who donate surplus food to Quest for use in their programs. At Quest, they use their own trucks to sort and distribute this food to those in need in the Lower Mainland, and their mandate is to “Reduce Hunger with Dignity.” Quest assists individuals each month through partnerships with local social service agencies by providing their clients with access to our not-for-profit grocery markets and by delivering food materials to agencies for their own meal programs. In this manner, those helping Quest are also helping hundreds of other agencies and their clients. We met Quest at a BC Food Processors Association (BCFPA) event about 5 years ago now, and when they told us what they did and how they helped the community, it was a no-brainer for us. Our mission has always been, to serve, inspire and contribute to your good health, and the “your” doesn’t discriminate whether you can afford, or be able to have access to great quality health products. Quest does amazing work within the community, and we are honoured to support organizations like Quest. Good food and health are unfortunately out of reach for many people in Vancouver and BC as a whole, especially in the colder months just passed. At Organika we always wanted to make Nutritiously dense food and supplements available to everyone; hoping to help people create a sense of wellbeing through good health. We reached out to Quest at the beginning of the year, as we wanted to make sure we could offer support during a dreary period of winter. Vitamin D and Omega 3’s was part of some of the items we donated that we thought would be helpful for people during the winter season. We plan to continue to support Quest Food Exchange with their vitamin and supplement needs, and we look forward to creating a bigger impact in the local community year-round.
