Bone Broth Steak Sauce

Ellyl-Faith Llavore

Barbeque season is here, and Canada day is just around the corner! Time to take out the grill and start grilling all your summer favourites with the whole family! From hot dogs, grilled veggies, barbeque skewers and more, there's a variety of them to choose but one thing is for sure, we cannot forget our steak! Here is our healthy spin to the classic steak sauce with bone broth, and without the preservatives: Bone Broth Steak Sauce!

Bone Broth Steak Sauce:

PREP TIMES: 10 Mins | Cook Time: 30 Mins |
Makes 1-1/4 CUps

  • 1 white onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup organic ketchup

  • 1 medium sized lemon, juiced

  • 1 tablespoon Organika Bone Broth Original Beef

  • 1/4 cup Worcester sauce

  • 1/4 cup white wine vinegar

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 2 to 3 tablespoons Organika coconut sauce*

  • 2 tablespoons coconut palm sugar

  • 1 tablespoon (heaping) Dijon mustard

Chop onions, mince garlic and combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, and reduce heat to medium and simmer for 20-30 minutes while stirring occasionally to avoid clumping.

Take out a mesh strainer and pour the sauce through into a large bowl, use a spatula to press the sauce through. Let the steak sauce cool before transferring it into a mason jar to put into the fridge (will last 2 weeks). This is a summer favourite and a good way to incorporate a healthy steak sauce without the artificial ingredients and colourings your store bought steak sauce will have.
