Looking back at 2019

The Organika Team

As the year comes to a close, it's time to look back at some of our fondest memories of 2019. As a family company, we really cherish our local community and try our best to give back as much as we can. Here are some of our highlights of the best moments the Organika team spent fostering community this past year!

Racing for the children of BC

Fifteen of our team members and their families participated in this year’s RBC Race for the Kids, raising $880 in funds to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation for cancer research and mental health initiatives for BC’s kids. We also raised over $4,000 in donations for this great cause at our annual Christmas party.

Dressing up for men's health

On the Friday before Father’s Day, the Organika team decked out in plaid to raise awareness on prostate cancer, as part of the Plaid for Dad initiative. We organized a Banh Mi sandwich sale to raise funds, as well as a Toonie drive. Through the fundraisers, Organika collected $300 for the cause. The money was donated to Prostate Cancer Canada to fund research, helping save the lives of men across Canada.

Feeding our neighbours in need

The Organika team organized a 10 Days of Cans food drive, collecting 155 lbs. of non-perishable foods for the Richmond Food Bank, helping provide food for our neighbours in need and giving back to our local community. The Richmond Food Bank serves over 2200 people on average every week, relying solely on community donations.

Providing access to a healthier life

Quest Food Exchange is a BC organization with a mission to reduce hunger with dignity. They redistribute food that would otherwise go to waste, providing access to quality food and health products to thousands of underprivileged families in the lower mainland. This year, Organika donated $75,000 in products to help Quest further their mission! Organika team members also donated their time, helping re-package non-perishable items for redistribution in Quest’s not-for-profit markets.
