We are oh so very excited to announce the freshest addition to our superfoods collection, our brand-new Veggie Broth powder! Whether you’re a total carnivore or a hardcore vegan, we can all agree on one thing: eating your veggies is super important. We wholeheartedly believe this and in fact, we take it so seriously we wanted to make sure you can eat your veggies, drink your veggies, heck, even sprinkle your veggies on everything! Our Innovation team experimented with many, many ingredients to find the perfect combo of organic veggies, nutritional yeast and our fav new beauty ingredient, tremella mushroom (read more about this amazing beauty ‘shroom here). The final result? A wholesome, comforting broth that provides a vegan-friendly source of many vital nutrients! Let’s take a deeper dive into what Veggie Broth brings to the table:
Complete proteinProtein is an essential macronutrient that is an important component of every cell in the body. Your body needs it to build and repair tissues and make crucial body chemicals like enzymes and hormones. Complete proteins are proteins that contain all the nine essential amino acids (protein building blocks) that our bodies can’t produce on their own. Animal based products like meat, dairy and eggs have protein in spades, but they should be consumed in moderation since they are also sources of cholesterol. When eating a plant-based diet, complete protein can be harder to come by – you may need to look into your food’s amino acid profile to make sure you have all the pieces needed to put your protein puzzle together. Complete protein can be found in some plant-based foods, such as:
- Grains like quinoa, buckwheat and amaranth
- Soybean derivatives like tofu and tempeh
- Spirulina, a type of blue-green algae
- Seeds like hemp and chia
- Nutritional yeast, one of the main ingredients in our Veggie Broth!
