Spirulina Globes are the easiest, tastiest superfood packed snack guaranteed to please even the pickiest of crowds. Spirulina is a blue-green algae that’s been used for many years. Traditionally, it was used in Mexico by the Aztecs to make dried green cakes used for increasing stamina on long trips. Spirulina is a good source of protein, and iron, while also providing antioxidants. Additionally, it’s a great option for allergy sufferers, as studies have shown that it can help to alleviate symptoms of sneezing and nasal congestion associated with allergic rhinitis. Spirulina is green in colour and in all honesty, it tastes exactly how you would imagine algae to taste. But believe it or not, it’s actually quite easily hidden in foods. Smoothies are a common go-to for sneaking spirulina into your diet, but our favourite way is through our Spirulina Globes recipe. These nutrient packed globes are the perfect go-to for your afternoon snack. They pack a powerful punch of plant-based protein and fiber leaving you satiated until your next meal, with just the perfect amount of natural sweetness. Even better, they’re super quick and easy to prepare.
